@Tooter4kids : A RAINBOW is an arch of light exhibiting the spectrum colors in their order, caused by drops of water falling through the air. It is made up of all the colors of the visible spectrum red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. You can remember these colors by (learning meaningless sentences such as ) : “Ratting on your grouchy brother is vile”, “Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain” and even “Roy G. Biv”.
@Wikipedia : Over the RAINBOW” (and certainly not “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”) (music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg) depicts a pre-adolescent girl’s desire to escape from the “hopeless jumble” of this world. (Sounds like the ultimate emo song to me)).
@The Art of Pepper : : Art Pepper writes “The Trip” while in San Quentin in 1963 . “The Trip” is featured on his eponym 1976 album for Contemporary next to Red Car. The sleeve notes read “The sound that comes out of this thing, this piece of metal (his alto) is just me saying these things and taking people on a trip.” (in a red car probably).
@International Lyrics Playground : In 1950, Milton De Lugg & William Stein wrote for Nat “King” Cole “I was walking along, minding my business. When out of an Orange Coloured Sky. Flash! Bam! Alakazam! Wonderful you came by” (Flash! Bam! Orange Sky! pre-hallucogenic times? ).

Other than being a Munchkin song, an Eminem rap or part of an Elton John’s album, Yellow Brick Road is a Las Vegas-based group of musicians, which for the past ten years has become widely recognized as one of the best at recreating the signature sounds of Rock’s biggest acts. @IMDB : In the movie On Green Dolphin Street Lana Turner plays Marianne Patourel (I love these names à la French) and along with her sister Marguerite, they show strength and determination throughout all the twists and turns that are thrown at them. Poignant and beautiful. (The theme written by Bronislaw Kaper and Ned Washington has been covered by more than 80 artists. Here we have the Sonny Rollins’ version).
@SecondHandSongs : : Written by Richard Rodgers, music and Lorenz Hart, lyrics, “The Bad in Every Man” was originally titled “Prayer”, and written for Jean Harlow to sing in the movie “Hollywood Party”. However, it was never used in this movie. The lyrics were then rewritten for the movie “Manhattan Melodrama” where it was sung by Shirley Ross. Finally, the lyrics were again rewritten and the song released as the famous Blue Moon in 1935 (and later - 1956 recorded by Ella Fitzgerald).
Barney Bigard who co-wrote Mood Indigo Duke Ellington is said to have learned it from his clarinet teacher who called it a “Mexican Blues“.
@My Jazz World : African Violet is a release by trumpet player Blue Mitchell on ABC/Impulse from 1977, next to some old cohorts it has many of the best session artists on it (Herman Riley, Sonny Burke, Lee Ritenour, Scott Edwards, James Gadson, Paulinho Da Costa, McKinley Jackson, Michael Boddicker and others). Also some background vocals and strings, yielding another nice funk-jazz album from the 70ies.
