Forty Piano Men >>

@Jimmy Scott : The late Blues Singer and Songwriter Doc Pomus, Jimmy’s dear friend and champion…..”Jimmy Scott can touch you in your deepest parts and even find spots that you never know you had. He sings the slow notes slower than anyone else and he has a way of bending notes that is uncanny.

@JazzTrumpetSolos.com : Mitchell gained a reputation working with Horace Silver’s quintet from 1958 to March of 1964, where his lyrical playing and beautiful tone perfectly complemented Silver’s simplified, soulful brand of bop.

@classicbands.com : : As unfathomable as it seems from the distance of over 40 years, for a few months, Gerry & the Pacemakers were the Beatles’ nearest competitors in Britain. Managed, like the Beatles, by Brian Epstein, Gerry Marsden and his band burst out of the gate with three consecutive number one UK hits in 1963, “How Do You Do It”, “I Like It”, and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”

@Wayne Hendereson’s Jazz Crusaders : More than forty-years ago, Wayne Henderson, along with childhood buddies Wilton Felder, Joe Sample, and Nesbert “Stix” Hooper, formed the nucleus of the Jazz Crusaders/Crusaders.

@Keno : Hound Dog Taylor was born Theodore Roosevelt Taylor, named after the US President. He was born with six fingers on each hand. Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, his childhood was not an easy one. When he was only 9 years old, his step father supposedly packed up all of his things in a brown paper bag, stood in the doorway with a shotgun, and told Hound Dog to “cut out”.

@Official Spoon! : Jimmy “Spoon” Witherspoon ’s long-running career took place on Jazz stages around the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Newport Jazz Festival, from touring Japan with Count Basie to European tours with Buck Clayton’s All Stars. Spoon managed to span the worlds of Blues, R&B and Jazz with his unique style anchored in the big band Blues traditions.

@Don Cornell : : Let Don Cornell NOW envelope you in a captivating tapestry of love songs accompanied by the lush arrangements of his long time friend, arranger/conductor Ed Cerveny. I’m sure you will heartily agree that Don Cornell remains one of the most sensitive singers that the world of popular music has ever produced.

@Classic Jazz Guitar : Then, after Epiphone made George Van Eps a seven-string guitar in 1938, he began displaying the depth, richness and complexity that are the hallmarks of the Van Eps sound.
