Out of today fifteen girls, four are “little” (). One talks when the other does not answer. One is two sided when her sister is “old fashioned”. Wiil the one living next door become “My” girl? And does the “candy girl” have a suger daddy? No idea! But strangely enough, only one is “pretty” when another one is “bad”. (Are they the same?)
@Tim’s Befuddled Universe : “Little Girl Blue” refused to remain a “show tune”. Since 1935 the song has continued to be performed by singers of almost every genre. In her version of the song, Janis Joplin does not use the original Lorenz Hart lyrics. I do not know if she modified the lyrics herself, or if she used lyrics modified by another blues artist.
@Seeklyrics : : (The end of the song) “All you can count on are the raindrops that fall on little girl blue. (that must be some top blue paint to cope with the rain) …….. Why won’t somebody send a tender Blue boy to cheer up little girl blue.” (Yes why? at least they could procreate cute little smurfes )
@Sixties Music : Sung by The Shirelles, “Foolish Little Girl” says “You broke his heart and made him cry, And he’s been blue since then”. ( /* Paragraphes 4 5 & 6 */ ?> @footnoteMaven : My Mother’s saying was - A pretty girl is like a melody, from the 1919 Irving Berlin song that had become popular again at that time. It didn’t sound forced to me. It sounded as if the person writing it actually meant it. She was a pretty girl and she certainly came from the house of melodies (Carnegie Hall). At least, that is what I choose to believe. @Eartha Kitt Fan Club : Ms. Kitt’s career came to a sudden about face in 1968 when at a White House luncheon hosted by Lady Bird Johnson, Kitt spoke out against the Vietnam War. For many years afterward, she would be blacklisted by many in the U.S. entertainment industry and would be forced to work abroad where her status remained undiminished. @Wikipedia : : Candy Girl is the title of a hit single recorded in 1963 by Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. Written by Larry Santos and produced by Bob Crewe, it tackles the subject of a girlfriend whose “love is so sweet”. @Powell’s Book : In “Doris Day: The Untold Story of the Girl Next Door”, David Kaufman takes the reader to the epicenter of American popular culture— a roller-coaster saga, from the 1940s to the 1980s. While Day symbolized virtuous America to the rest of the world, she was in many ways the opposite of her image as “the girl next door.” She was also a real-life Cinderella who regretted having gone to the ball and who found a series of princes who proved far less than charming. @TheTemptations.com-Forum : Then toward the end they started my girl and the crowd went nuts. Me and my buddies knew the steps to the song for we sang My girl at a local talent show in which we got second place. So the song started and we were matching them step for step. At one point Terry pointed over at us which got otis’s attention and he gave us an Pretty Good” gesture with his hand which was great.” @All-Guitar-Chords.com. : Now, we are all going to take our guitar and play (and sing) together. Am E7 Am A7 Is there anybody going to listen to my story Dm G7 C E7 All about the girl who came to stay? Am E7 Am A7 She´s the kind of girl you want so much …to be continued… probably /* Bloc Tracklist */ ?>
